Sankofa - Featuring a brass Sankofa charm.
The Sankofa Adinkra Symbol is represented by a heart shape or a bird with its head turned backward while its feet face forward carrying a precious egg in its mouth.
Sankofa is often associated with the proverb, “Se wo were fi na wosankofa a yenkyi," which translates as: "It is not wrong to go back for that which you have forgotten." It is a word in the Twi language of Ghana that translates to "Go back and get it".

Each waist bead is made to order by hand and customized to specifications indicated in each order including measurements, type of closure, and charm placement if applicable. When ordering multiple waist beads, measurements should vary at least 1/8 of an inch in difference.
