Finding Time for Joy ⭐

My current trip immersing myself in Congolese arts—dance, drum, song, and history—is a testament to what brings me joy. I’ve been a professional and primary dancer since I was 9 years old and a member of Fua Dia Congo, an Oakland-based Congolese dance company, since 1999. However, becoming a mother of three, a solo entrepreneur, business owner, and community leader has left me with little time for myself because I have allowed it.

Now, I am building my life to include all the things that bring me joy and happiness. Incorporating these activities when I return home will be essential for my preservation and health. This means making some changes in my work schedule to bring dance back as a regular part of my weekly activities. I will manifest all the support I need to maintain my regular store hours and my peace of mind through cultural arts.

I hope my story and mission is inspiration to you as well and will compel you to schedule in your daily, weekly, monthly calendars that which bring you joy, happiness and good health!
